Kenai River Salmon Fishing Charters

Salmon fishing charters are highly sought after on the Kenai Peninsula and the early run for King Salmon begins in May-June. The peak of the King Salmon run is the middle of June, but the fishing in May can be very productive with less traffic from other anglers. The best River to fish for Kings during the month of May is the Kasilof River. The Late Run of King Salmon fishing season starts in July and runs through the second week of August. King Salmon Season on the Kenai Peninsula closes on the last day of July. Kenai River king salmon strike fiercely and put up a good fight!

The Kenai River sockeye salmon fishing starts in June and runs trough early July. This is followed by the late run that picks up later July and fishes well into August. Anglers love to fish Reds because they are delicious to eat and will aggressively strike when presented with an opportunity. Silver Salmon on the Kenai River are tons of fun and make for excellent table fare. If you haven’t experienced fishing for Silver Salmon “Coho” then you are missing out on all the fun. Silver Salmon are extremely aggressive and acrobatic fish. They average 8-10 lbs, but are regularly caught weighing 12-15 lbs. Pound for pound these are the hardest fighting salmon on the Kenai Peninsula.
